ABOUT
Eisackwerk Srl & Eisackwerk Rio Pusteria Srl (the Eisackwerk Group) are two separate companies with limited liability, which have been active since 2005 and 2010, respectably. We mainly focus on the development and realization of hydropower plants.
From 2005 until 2012, we participated in the hydropower concession tenders in the province of Bolzano, Italy. During this time we applied for 20 new water concessions in Italy, which, if granted, would have a total output of 1,000 MW and a yearly production of 5TWh.
The hydroplant Rio Pusteria was the first concession we received. Eisackwerk Rio Pusteria Srl has been running the power plant since January 1, 2011. The power plant was completely revamped in fewer than 18 months. The location of the plant was moved, and it was built completely underground. The focus of the revamp was to build a new, more efficient and safer hydropower plant. The facility has been running since November 2012 and the revamp has allowed the power output to be increased from 16 MW to 21MW. On average, the plant generates approximately 100 GWh per year.
On February 3, 2015 after a long legal battle, Eisackwerk Srl was declared the winner of the concession tender of the power plant of S. Antonio. From mid 2016- spring 2019, we majorly revamped the plant. The project included a relocation of the power plant underground. The penstocks and the electromechanical system were replaced and also moved completely underground.
The main goal of the revamp was to increase the efficiency while at the same time reducing the environmental impact of the plant.
Currently, the Eisackwerk Group has more than 110 MW of installed capacity and annual production of 400 GWh.

We are convinced that people in need should benefit from hydropower if the resources are used as efficiently as possible. Therefore, we have decided to support a charitable association. Eisackwerk Rio Pusteria donates 200,000 Euro each year to a local nonprofit organization that supports families in need in the neighboring communities of Rio Pusteria & Vandoies.

AWARDS
During the "Ecomondo" fair, the ten most innovative and environmentally friendly companies in various sectors were rewarded. Eisackwerk is the first hydroelectric company to receive an award from Ecomondo.
In 2021, Eisackwerk was awarded the German Design Award for the lighting design at its newly revamped plant of S.Antonio in Bolzano, Italy.
